What Are Your Idols?
The things you Idolize determines where you are going.This is real talk.Do you idolize money,your job,your husband/wife,children,home,401k.What do you idolize? Let's look at the word's definition. Idolize-: to worship as a god. Do you know that we serve a very Jealous God who will have no other gods before him.This is a common practice for us all.We say we love Jesus, but spend more time with our things and people instead of him.We make him the exception instead of the choice.
We are often perplexed why we make no progress and have no peace in our lives.We are always easily distracted because our flesh runs to those things that entertain and soothes us.We are tossed to and fro and we are never stable.We convince ourselves all I need is my house,car,wife,husband,children,etc and if I have those things I will be ok.
We worship things, and we do not keep them in a respectful place.When we need them they are not always there and they cannot help us when we are truly troubled,in despair or oppressed.We don't take the time to recognize these things that we worship are actually gifts that come from God.The did not create themselves they came from God.
Everything has its place...Unfortunately we do not keep Jesus Lifted up and have him as the only thing we worship in our life.Our relationship is conditional with him.If he doesn't move fast enough for us, we quickly use our other gods to comfort us(wife,husband,home,money,job,friends).We don't like to perservere,we lack patience and we do not trust God.We are selfish and self centered.We want to feel good so when God doesn't do what we want we become double minded cowards.
Eliminate of your idols.Put them in their rightful place, recognize they are nothing but blessings that God has placed in your life as a result of a fruitful relationship with him. Do it now.....this is not a time to ponder and be indecisive......your immediate future is at risk...You need to ask yourself"What Are My Idols?"
